Electric-dipole, electric-quadrupole, magnetic-dipole, and magnetic-quadrupole transitions in the neon isoelectronic sequence
Excitation energies for 2l23l8 hole-particle states of Ne-like ions are determined to second order in relativistic many-body perturbation theory ~MBPT!. Reduced matrix elements, line strengths, and transition rates are calculated for electric-dipole (E1), magnetic-quadrupole (E2), magnetic-dipole (M1), and magneticquadrupole (M2) transitions in Ne-like ions with nuclear charges ranging from Z51...
متن کاملTable of Nuclear Magnetic Dipole and Electric Quadrupole Moments
This Table is a compilation of experimental measurements of static magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of ground states and excited states of atomic nuclei throughout the periodic table. To aid identification of the states, their excitation energy, half-life, spin and parity are given, along with a brief indication of the method and any reference standard used in the particular meas...

متن کاملMicroscopic magnetic dipole radiation in neutron stars
There is P2 neutron superfluid region in NS (neutron star) interior. For a rotating NS, the P2 superfluid region is like a system of rotating magnetic dipoles. It will give out electromagnetic radiation, which may provides a new heating mechanism of NSs. This heating mechanism plus some cooling agent may give sound explanation to NS glitches.
متن کاملThe Pulsar Kick Velocity Distribution
We analyse the sample of pulsar proper motions, taking detailed account of the selection effects of the original surveys. We treat censored data using survival statistics. From a comparison of our results with Monte Carlo simulations, we find that the mean birth speed of a pulsar is ∼ 250 − 300 km s, rather than the 450 km s found by Lyne & Lorimer (1994). The resultant distribution is consiste...
